Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Ajax Public Library is a nonprofit, charitable organization. The purpose of the Friends is to foster public awareness, understanding and enjoyment of library services in the Town of Ajax. The Friends raise funds, support special projects, and enhance library services.


What does being a Friend mean?

Friends of the Library logoBeing a Friend means knowing that you are making a real contribution to ensure that your Library remains a vital presence in the community. As a Friend you will also receive: 

      • Invitation to Friends events.
      • A membership newsletter.
      • Voting privileges at the Annual General Meeting.

To join the Friends simply print off the membership formand mail it with your payment to the Friends of the Ajax Public Library or drop it off at your local Library branch. Not only will you be supporting your local library but you will be joining one of over 100 Friends groups that have been identified across Canada. FOCAL is a national "grass roots" association committed to providing leadership, motivation and support to all Friends groups in their efforts to preserve and strengthen libraries and create awareness and appreciation of library services.  For more information about FOCAL contact Val Marshall. 

 


How can you help?

The Friends are currently looking for new members with a desire to take on a committee role. Currently we have an opening for a Treasurer. Please contact Val at 905-683-4588 if you would like to step up and help out.


Thank You Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 322 Ajax!

Legion and FriendsSpecial thanks to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 322 Ajax. Emma Smith, 3rd Vice President of the Legion recently presented a cheque for $10,000 to the Friends.  This donation is part of the Million Dollar Capital Fund and brings the total contribution from the Legion to $90,000.

Upcoming Events

Ajax Film Circuit
One Wednesday a Month; September through May; Ajax Cineplex Odeon

Show tickets go on sale the day after the previous month’s movie.  Individual tickets are $7.00 in advance at all library branches or $7.50 at the theatre – just visit the Film Circuit table in the theatre lobby.

The Film Circuit runs one Wednesday each month from September through May (except December).  The Ajax Film Circuit is a project of the Friends of the Ajax Public Library in conjunction with the Toronto International Film Festival Group.
