Active Living

Ajax is Walking

Join in the fun and make your walking steps count towards Ajax's 'trek' of South Africa's nine cities hosting the FIFA World Cup. Click here to download the flyer.

Challenge your family, friends and co-workers to our Pedometer Challenge! Sign-out a pedometer kit from any of the Ajax Libraries and start logging your steps. All steps logged will go towards the necessary 3,965,000 steps required.

How do I get started?

  • Sign-out a pedometer kit for a week from any Ajax Library branch using your library card
  • Log your steps at logyoursteps.com. This is a fun way to track your family's activity, plus contribute your steps towards the 3,965,000 needed to visit each of the nine cities in South Africa.
  • Complete a ballot and enter your walking family for a fabulous monthly prize.
  • Click here to request a pedometer.

Get INVOLVED; be INSPIRED; IGNITE a new healthy you. Active living is an approach to life that values and includes physical activity in everyday living. There are many ways to be active at work, school, home, and during leisure time. Active living is about making physical activity part of every day life. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, work in the garden, take the kids or dog to the park, or swim some laps in the pool. Embrace your health... it’s worth making time for!
